1989 XJ6 acceleration stuck
I have never owned a jag before, and am looking at my favorite model. The Vanden Plas XJ6 
. I have always had Mercedes benz, especially the older diesels. I went to look at a gorgeous jag, it was $1,900 perfect condition. The only down side is that when you cranked it up, the throttle was at high RPMs but the peddle didnt move. Possible causes? And how is the reliability of these old Jags? Also, it had 92,000 miles and a one owner. Had some service records.

Welcome to the forum.
as per Lumppy, check for obvious sticking of otherwise moving parts.
Although if what you are saying is that it has high idle on startup without you touching the pedal then that might be a cleaning issue.
