1990 xj 40 transmission limp mode troubleshoot
O.k. Guys.. I need some more help. I did a quick multi-meter probe test at the trans control unit wiring harness. I was looking for resistance caused by a ground. According to my master tech brother, by pin testing harness end with one probe and the other to good chassis ground, any resistance should indicate a short to ground for that circuit. He assumes it would be engineered that way. I do not have or cannot decipher the diagram for the transmission control unit.
I have 1.0 resistance when grounded to chassis @ pin #7, #9, #15, #26, #50. also slight scrambled reading when I initially touched #16 & #49.
Any ideas, schematics, suggestions? I cannot find any local mechanic with jdu or pdu equipment to diagnose the transmission failure dtc.,, so I am back to ask you guys for more help. Appreciate it. tnx
