Default abs light

Hi everyone,

The ABS light came on the other day and I used the jumper wire in the connection in the boot to get the code which was 24. The two other times the ABS light came on it was related to a wheel sensor which was replaced and the problem solved. This code is referring to the "inlet valve right front" and I'm not sure what that means. See excerpt from the code sheet attached. Any ideas would be appreciated - thanks

Hi dtrain911,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

Please tell us the year, model and engine of your Jaguar so we can provide the most accurate replies.

It helps if you visit your User Control Panel (User CP) and edit your signature to include your car's details so they appear in all of your posts. This keeps the rest of us from having to guess or ask repeatedly.

Also, please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST and post a required introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jaguar and give you a proper welcome, and also please read this:

Thanks for the welcome Don. I put the care details in the "about me" section of the profile along with my location. Where should I post this info so others can see it?

The electrical guide has pin info for modules in the FRONT MATTERS section of the guide.

Hi dtrain911,

From this page, click on the User CP button at the left of the menu bar above. This will take you to your User Control Panel.

In your Control Panel, click on Edit Signature in the menu along the left side of the page.

Now, in the window on the Edit Signature page, add your car's year, model, engine, and mileage as you would like it to appear in your signature.

Scroll down and click Save Signature.

Now your car details will show up in all of your posts (see my signature for an example).

Now that we know the year and model of your Jaguar, you can download the Electrical Guide that Bob mentioned at the link below, thanks to Bob, who provided the Jaguar files for upload, and our member Gus, who hosts them on his website, jagrepair.com (a very useful site for reference material - note that many of the XJ40 files are misfiled in the XJ6 & XJ12 menu).

Jaguar XJ40 Electrical Guide 1991-1992

Cheers,

Don
