Default Another door lock issue 90 VDP

I have read many door lock problems here with different outcomes. My 90 VDP sat for 8 years, I am currently using it for my commuter car but can't lock it up. The center console lock button will roll up the windows but wont lock the doors, although all the solenoids click. The drivers key wont do anything, the passenger key will roll up windows, lock the pass side door, all the other solenoids click but dont lock, and it wont unlock the door. The trunk is locked and wont unlock but will open with the release in the glove box. I have tried the resequencing with the lock/unlock around the car game with no luck. I removed all the lock assemblies and cleaned them up so they work smoothly by hand. Do I have a problem with the driver door solenoid or the cpu or something else?

I also cant find the factory replacement for the front fog lights or front fog light covers. I have 1 cover and both lights are shattered. Everything I find is for the back fog lights.

Thanks for the help.

I believe either door actuators or solenoids are bad fro your car .
Have you ever tried master key ?

Default Door Lock Problems

Have you replaced the door lock module? On my '92 it is located under the dash on passenger side. Part number is DBC 1554. I am having similar problems to yours but replacing my module did not help. If you solve your problems please post it.

My car didn't come with any keys, so I ordered one from Jag. My key doesn't have any buttons but I assume it is a master key. The car had a factory installed alarm, that just drained the battery, so I took it out, but the locks didn't work before I removed the alarm.

I haven't tried the control or the solenoid yet. I was hoping to find a way to troubleshoot rather than shot gun! Any suggestions?

Default Shop Manual on CD

I have ordered a CD which is supposed to have the shop manual on it. I hope it will have procedures for diagnosing electric door lock problems--I'll post any information I find.

This sounds very much like my first post to this forum.

Clicks in the doors but nothing happens. No, lock/unlock.

Turned out to be the main lock module under the dash and a flakey actuator in a door.

Changed the module, 3 doors worked, changed the actuator in the remaining door, all good.

If you like a long read with some other stuff thrown in, see this thread.
