Default battery type?

looks like the battery needs to be replaced. i checked the forum but couldn't find anything - is there a specific brand of battery that is recommended? in addition, any CCA ratings that I should look out for?

thanks

well I finally got a hold of the dealership - the battery is an Interstate MPP-48 H6-70. The parts guy said that Jaguar doesn't make it anymore.

Default sudden battery dtrain

I had the battery checked thinking it would need to be replaced and it showed that it needed to be charged. I have been driving the car regularly with no problems. I drove it last night and arrived home just after 10 p.m. When I attempted to leave this morning at around 5:30 a.m., the battery was almost completely drained...

Nothing obvious - lights and such were all off, doors were closed, etc. I been reading over the posts regarding battery drain and there's a lot. Does anyone have a good starting point for this type of rapid and thorough battery drain? This is a daily driver for me so I'm a little leery at this point.

thanks

dtrain:
I may be stating the obvious (pretty much the only thing I'm good at when it comes to car repair...) but are you sure the alternator is doing its job (i.e. is charging whilst the car is running)? Otherwise, tracking down the battery drain looks to be your next step - and I cannot even imagine where to begin!

As far as the purchase of a new battery... Honestly, I'd probably go down and buy the cheapest one that Farm & Fleet as to offer that would work.

All the best!
Scott

that's not a bad idea. i'm going to pick up an ammeter so i'll check the readings on the alternator and if necessary, begin going through every fuse and relay...

thanks for the reply
