Brake Master Cylinder rebuild?
Worked on the Jag today. Rebled the brakes. Checked the ABS pump and it comes on every time the pedal is depressed. I guess the accumulator I put on was no good. Got another one on order but this time a new one. The brakes seem to work fine if I don't have to push the pedal very hard. I hope the accumulator is a step in the right direction.
Hi 94XJ12,
Sorry your journey seems so lonely. I've been monitoring your posts but haven't felt I could add anything helpful. If, when the electric pump comes on, it goes off by itself, that would indicate to me that both the pump and the combination low pressure switch are working correctly, so that does leave the accumulator as the most likely suspect. It sounds as though your system is not storing any pressure, and that's the accumulator's job. Please keep us informed.
Cheers,
Don

Thanks Don. I now feel I am on the right track. Part of the frustration is buying the same parts over and over. The accumulator ball I bought was "new" and on a rebuilt ABS pump. It now appears it does not function as intended. But I am going to buy new where and when I can to avoid those pitfalls in the future

Installed the new ABS accumulator today and got a drastic improvement in brake pedal. I still need to bleed the brakes to stop the red brake light from coming on but I now have decent brakes. Many thanks to Don B and smgdata for the help.
Sorry it took so long to update. Got the brakes bled and everything seems good until I drive the car about 20 miles. At that point I still have a good brake pedal but the red brake light comes on. Is there still air in the lines or is there maybe a sensor going bad?
I am now getting a code that looks like PAC. The car has new brake pads on it. It only shows this code when the red brake light comes on. I saw where the code is actually PAD. How do I get this code to go away? The brakes are working fine.
