A/C panels acting oddly...
1988 XJ40 with some A/C problems...
I've had the classic A/C panel failure now three times in six months. Each time, I've found a used A/C panel and replaced the one in the car. Each time, it would work for a few weeks, then not work for a couple of days, then work again for a couple of days and then die altogether.
My question is simple: What besides a failure of the fan rheostat could cause the A/C panel to black out? Is there a relay somewhere that could cause the panel to lose power, or am I just eating A/C panels right and left?

I don't know if the dealers can still get these repair parts but I just buy micro switches and some #2-56 screws/nuts and fix my own. You have plenty of units to repair and sell some on the internet!!!!!

Thanks!
Now the car has a problem it hasn't had before. Previously, I had just swapped out a new panel and it fixed the problem. This time, no dice -- and I had a Jag shop do the work. But apparently, they failed to plug something in as they were putting the car back together. I no longer have a radio, dome lights, dash illumination when the headlights are on, tail lights, tag lights, running lights, etc. Either I've lost a significant power buss somewhere or they forgot to plug something in.
