Default DIY steering rack rebuild

Has anyone ever DIYd their own steerin rack?
I have a leaky seal on my rack at 30 years and 105+k miles.
I can replace with a reman.
Rebuild myself (I like the thought)
Live with it
Any thoughts?

Thanks,
RogerTop

I have posted some photos of adwest rack internals on the Jagfix38 thread, i believe it is doable and if you pay attention to details, keep everything polished and neat it will work, mine started to leak after some time but reman unit i have purchased later also leaked, all perhaps due to over pressure in the system but i'm not so sure
Prior to rebuilding rack i have run lucas stop leak for year or two but after use of that stuff all rubbers softened and failed more or less at once and i ended up rebuilding rack, pump and changing all hoses
Seal kit costs around 40gbp i think so you wont loose much if things go south, weekend job
