Default door locks don't work

Door locks quit working so I pulled the module and found some evidence of overheating inside. I naturally assumed I needed another module so I found a used one but the locks still don't work. I have tried a second module but no luck. Power is getting to the module and I hear faint clicking noises when I try to actuate but the locks don't move. I have a wiring diagram but have not begun pulling off door panels yet to check the wiring connections. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

try synchronizing the locks get in the car shut the doors and push the locks down to the lock position starting with the drivers door then the ft pass then the rear pass then the rear drivers side the hit the lock button and see what happens you may have to do this more then once it worked for me after i fixed some wires to the lock module good luck

Thanks for the reply on synchronizing but no luck. The wiring diagram shows all six actuators are fed from two wires from the module with the driver's side first in line so I'll start there checking connections and continuity.

Does anybody know a diagnostic procedure for non-working door locks?
Come on, you guys. Out of all you Jaguar mechanics out there doesn't anyone know how to diagnose and fix electric door locks? Does anyone have a shop manual that covers it?

I'm writing the final chapter in this long saga and it has a happy ending. I've read posts on this subject until I'm blue in the face and I finally got down to the nitty gritty--why can't I get ANY of the actuators to work except the fuel flap. I finally started testing each actuator in turn and found that NONE of them worked--they were ALL bad. You test them by disconnecting them and applying 12v to to the ppl/org and grounding the ppl/pnk or vice versa. If nothing happens it's bad.

So I took a trip out to Pull-A-Part and so far have gotten three actuators for a nominal sum, brought them home and they work perfectly! I would have gotten the fourth but couldn't get the **** back door open on the wrecked Jag which had a jammed mechanism so I'll go to the other P-A-P in south Atlanta.

So to all you frustrated Jag owners with recalcitrant door locks--start testing.

Nobody would have thought that all four could fail in the same short period, I would haven't gotten to testing each one individually early on either. Thats just one of those statistical outliers that bit ya.
