Default front end shaking

i have a jag xj 40 1990 55k orignal miles. i just started to get front end shaking between 38 to 45 mph. is it a bad tire, bad alignment or more?

i am in the process of replacing the power stearing hoses due to they are starting to seep through the rubber. i am not sure if tire rod is going out and can caues this shaking

it is a lhd car

any feedback will help me.

Simple stuff first I always say.

Since you have it up in the air for those hoses, rotate the wheels and check for tyre issues and/or a buckled wheel.

Grab the wheel (car still jacked up) and give it a good shake, it may be a wheel bearing, or a tie rod end, or a balljoint (not common).

It may also be nothing to do with the front end stuff, it may be a universal joint in the prop shaft failing/failed, or the rubber "Jurid" coupling of the prop shaft (if it still has one).

Engine mounts, front and rear, can also cause issues.

That is some that come to mind to me, others will come up with others, and somewhere in all of it will be your fault.
