Default Fuel Fail 24

A quick search only found one reference to Fault code 24 (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-93-jag-46700/) so I thought I would put this out there. This fault (I believe) points to the Ignition Amplifier (part of ignition drive circuit). I did the Haynes test of the connector and I have voltage to the Amplifier.

I was able to find a new LUCAS part locally for $125.00, a good deal as far as I can tell.

I would like any input as to what else I should test before replacing this part. It looks like a super easy part to replace, but I'd like to cover all the bases.

Thanks in advance,

David.

David, I remember a 93 at my old place that had the same code. Never could get it to go away. The old feller didn't drive much so it was emissions exempt. We figured the ECM just had a glitch in it for that driver circuit. Anyway. I would just make sure the wire connections are clean and strong. make sure the pins are bent to engage fully. I have my bible to AJ6 engines at work.

On another note, i noticed you car specs. I had the exact car for a bit and sold it to a friend. I think he's looking for a newer one at this point. My car came from Cali and was a base model, no memory, no sunroof. GREAT CAR!! I always thought that car ran smoother than my 97 VDP.

Enjoy that car. And, yes, it will have some issues cause all those cars do but when they are right, there is very little out there that will give you that feeling.

OK. My tech says I should look for some kind of valve before the Fuel Pressure Regulator and he aslo asked if there is some kind of heat riser on this car. I don't know.

I still haven't heard from anyone if the Ignition Amplifier could cause a long cranking condition.

Thanks.
