Help. 89xj40 coolant hose identification!
Alright I need some help identifying a radiator hose. My car is at the shop which luckily isn't open on weekends so I can't go ask them what it is.
I found this picture off google and the hose is somewhere down where the arrow is pointing.
The shop was gonna charge me $175 just for the damn hose but I know I can get it cheaper online.
In the picture I'm not pointing to the hose with the red squiggly line on it. It's somewhere under there.
If I remember correctly the guy at the shop was saying it was like some fat hose thats only like 6 inches long if that helps at all.
My car is an 89Xj6 by the way

It's probably the water rail to pump housing hose (Part # EAC3454 but might be superceded) At the dealer we called it the MF hose becuse it is difficult to get to. 3 or 4 hours labor is not unreasonable for a shop to charge. I replaced mine on my 1992 XJ6 a while ago and I think it is a good idea to do it every 5 years or so. Get the bypass hose (EAC 3803 but might be superceded) as well because it is easier to get the big hose with that one out of the way and it might be damaged trying to remove it.
