Once again I've come to the fora for your desperate help.
Ever since I bought my '40 I've had this... Eye sore, this blister, this monstrosity of a blemish on the right rear door.
This little triangular piece is rusted through. Evidently it's a separate piece of metal as nothing around it has started rusting. I was wondering if it's removable and if so how? I had to tear down the door panel to replace the speakers (which I blew up) so I thought it'd be a great time to check if I can remove this afwul looking piece or rust while I'm at it.
The two photos show the triangle itself and the inside, with everything removed I could remove with just a screwdriver. Is it welded in place or just clicked in place from the outside?
I hope anyone can help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Reason: Clearer title
Looking at the few pics in my body manual, it seems like you would need to go at it from inside. On my door, it looks like there is a tab at the front lower corner behind the lower window trim that may have a clip or a short screw holding it. I know it's not an easy suggestion, but you may be able to see it if you take the outside door handle off and look in that way.

So I did some more research and it appears the chrome window frame has to come out. I've found pictures of said window frame removed from a 40 and it appears quite an easy job to remove the triangle when it's out. It's indeed held in place by a rivet on a tab.
When the window framing is installed the tab that holds the triangle is sitting below the top edge of the door framing, so it's not visible.
I've attached a picture from the internet. I'll probably go to my local scrapyard, remove a window frame there and remove one of the triangle to then fit on my own car.
