hydraulic pump drive plate

hydraulic pump drive plate
Hi all,
I've had my car almost 8 months now. I think I just figured out why it was in my price range. All along it has had a leak on the front of the motor. I see now that it is at the seal on the shaft behind the hydraulic pump. Unfortunately thats not the end of it. The bolt that holds the drive plate to the shaft had become stripped and loose at some point, and as a result the drive plate has worn most of the locator pins off the front of the shaft, along with grinding a ring in the plate. I wish Id known, I would have been at it much sooner. The hydraulic pump appears to be ok, but obviously hasnt been operating much if at all for some time, so I could be opening another can of worms by attempting to repair this much. Anyway, the oil drip had been directly onto the alternator belt and caused a "loose belt squeal" and a really nasty grime that needs cleaned off. My question is, does anyone know how hard it is to change that shaft? where can i get that shaft, the plate and its proper bolt?- used is ok. or should i just start pricing motors?????
Thanks for any help, Jerry

RE: hydraulic pump drive plate
I got the seal andinstalled it. It was a bit awkward, but I dont think I hurt it. I broke 3 bulbs in my drop light during this little project, so I think a flourescent drop light is suddenly on my Christmas list. But I gotthe carall back together and gathered my nerve to start it up. Nothing flew off, no odd noises, no spraying oil, and most importantly, NO FLAME!!!!! I took it out for about a 5 mile spin, came back and checked, all seems well. I'll have to check for drips again in the morning, but the outlook is definitely brighter. Now, I just need plugs, wires, hood and trunk struts, get the a/c repaired.....
What a Cool Car!!! Thanks! Jerry
