I have to replace a lower ball joint and I grabbed one out
of my parts bin. New in the bag but the natural rubber of
the dust boot was checked / split. It has never been used
and my parts guy mentioned getting a third party boot to
replace it. He named Energy Suspension (no affiliation) and
I looked but didn't see Jag mentioned. They do have a
sizing button and I could probably find one that comes close.

Does anyone have a location that already have the jaguar
dimensions for sale? It is crazy to ditch a part just for
the rubber dust cover.

I once had a similar situation, where an otherwise perfectly good boot was split and, needing to do the job urgently, I superglued it, put it on and it never gave any problem.......Roger.

 

I found something at NAPA that is almost perfect. It was @ $6 and the part # is 650-1177. It says it is a tie rod end but it fits my 5/8 inch shaft nice and tight and fits over the wider bottom very well. The only thing I can't do is get the retaining spring on the wide end but who cares. Once weight is put on the bottom will squeeze onto and over the lip creating a nice fit.

They are easy to replace and if it doesn't work out, I'll just spend the money to buy an entire new unit.

This is how I feel today. Running and getting nowhere.
