May I suggest you post in the XJ40 forum, as this forum is for Series 3 saloons. The six cylinder cars ceased in 1985, but the V12s continued until 1992, (at about 50 a week maximum !). This is why the forum has 1992 on it -to cover the Series 3 V12s only.

Anyway, have you checked the wheel diameters for the two rim sizes ? It could be this. Certainly on my X350, admittedly a much later car, the wheel size has to be programmed in to the system. It's difficult to to see why a transmission fluid change would throw a limp home mode fault.

Default limp home mode

Dear jtsnakeman,

I have just read your note/frustration with the "limp home mode". Have you fixed the probem without spending $100 plus per hour????

Let me know!

Regards,
Michael
