Oil cooler bypass
The oil cooler lines on my 1990 XJ6 were leaking badly, so I've purchased an oil manifold from PartsBin. Removal of the oil cooler lines has been easy, and installing the manifold was no problem...except that the stud is not long enough for the original lock nut. Would a thinner plain nut and some Loctite be okay?
I cannot see why not.
Did you get the 2 sleeves that fit between that manifold and the oil filter housing when you got the manifold????.
It will be a mongrel to seal without those sleeves and the 4 o/rings.

Yes, I received the manifold, two connector tubes, and four O-rings. The manifold fits flush against the manifold so it's not like it isn't seated. After install, there's about 1/4-inch (don't know what that is in metric) of threads showing.

Replace the stud with the longer one.
Remove the stud and use a bolt of the appropriate length.
