oil drain plug not coming out!! 88 xj40
so i get under the car to drop the oil , start trying to undo the drain plug and it just keeps turning. it looks likt just the head of the plug is turning. is there something im missing here? so if this thing is stripped , how should i go about geting it out now?
Yep....it sounds like it's stripped....not an uncommon occurrence in these Jags. Most shops can sell you an aftermarket replacement which consists of a sleeve and a smaller diameter plug... although that doesn't help you in getting the old one out!
Unfortunately it's going to be a case of some locking jaw pliers, some ingenuity and a lot of patience as you carefully try and 'unscrew and pry' it from the sump!
