Hello all,
I am looking for a used Owners Manual for a newly acquired 1990 XJ40.
The reason being is that I have a lamp 'on' on my dash and I need to know what it is.
The lamp is a "Lightening Bolt" just under the Bulb failure lamp. I would think that it is something electrical but since I don't really know what triggers the lamp I don't know where to start.

Further research tells me that the "lightning bolt" lamp turns on if there is a blown fuse. I will check VCM and post results

 

You can use the VCM button to narrow down the location of the blown fuse. If memory is correct, "Fuse 1" code means fuse box on right (passenger) kick panel fuse box, Fuse 2 is left/driver kick panel and Fuse 3 is in the armrest.

 

You are quite correct. there were 2 blown fuses in the passenger side fuse panel.
One was for the cigarette lighter and the other was for the door locks. Changed the fuses, but the central door locking system does not work. I will have to check that out.
