Default Parting Out Redd!

Hate to do it,but between the Champ car and Redd, after 8000 KMS put on Champ, she's the keeper!

Washed Redd last week, and the rust coming up from the HINKY paint job laid on by some greasy dealer in an effort to extract money, sealed it's fate.

It just has tooo much rust for me to play with.

On the plus side the interior is in good shape, engine in good shape, among other items on the car.

Larry gets dibs on the near pristine hood liner.

We are keeping the brakes, wood, some glass, front seats, and I will pull the IRS out to keep for my next Jag project.

Any interest out there? Not in this to make money!

Cheers,Jim and Cindy

Fitted the spanking AS NEW (Redd's) hood liner and now I can open the hood without feeling ashamed and in places other than dark alleys ...

Thanks a bunch Jim, removed all that crap tape residue with lighter fluid, tried methyl hydrate but it took the paint off too so quit it FAST! Paint is pretty thin on the underside of the hood!!!

all the best til next time

Larry

Well opened the hood to show off the new liner, went for lunch with the missus in her car, came back and tried to drive home in the 40 and ...for the first time ever she coughed and spluttered and failed to start guess I'll need a few more items added to that list Jim ....

New thread soon on the non starter..

On the lighter side, a jumper cable walks into a bar, barman says, OK, I'll serve you, but you better not start anything!

Hi Jim, don't know if ya feel like pulling off one of the exhaust manifolds but I desperately need a exhaust stud with washer and nut to replace the broken stud/missing one on the ol' girl ...and they ain't so easy to source so it seems ...might have to come from UK and they might not have the nuts?

Hey Larry,I could go thru all that, but if I were you,I would go down to my nearest STIHL dealer, and ast to see a bar stud from something like an old 034 model,or maybe an old o32 chainsaw.they are 8mmx 8mm,high quality, and get a bar nut as well, flanged, self locking, and high quality.

Digging the old one out is gonna be the trick.

Let me know how she goes, and if we have to do the old weld-a-nut-on-the-broken-stud-trick,let me know,I just have to get a little bottle of allmig gas for the welding machine.

Cheers as usual,Jim.

Yes but that's the short (broken) one, threads only about 1/2 an inch - the manifold thread end needs to be about an inch and a quarter long at least ......is the Stihl one that long you think?

Just put the vernier on the broken stud Jim, looks like it's 11mm thick?

Not tough at all,I will send ya the part, took no time at all to dig out,and now I have a shiny cover, and manifolds without the dreaded power suckup EGR setup.

I hate smog crap!

I could pull them all,gut the little cats, stuff em' on extra HP!

Let me know where, and I will post the stud stuff asap, monday morn.

Cheers,Jim.

I am acutely interested, but way way too far away to be economical. Good luck.

Yup,fair distance to be sending heavy bits of metal. But then again,we live in a world of"just in time logistics",so properly boxed and padded goodies might not be too bad.

I'm looking for passenger side outer/short wing of the front bumper, specifically the part where it connects to the main front bumper.
And also rear brake light lenses. The rose/red ones. Both driver and passenger side.
