Does anyone know if performance chips are available for '93 XJ40 4.0?
Thanks.

Sorry, no. Not even sure what you mean exactly. My first thought was potato or corn... I've eaten both in my XJ40! Hope you find your answer.
Cheers, Scott

Before you buy somthing like that make sure you search for reviews online. Seems alot of people are saying chips like that are a scam.

That's why I am asking - so many people are selling rubbish, and I thought actual Jaguar owners might know...

You take your potato crisp - preferably Lay's (they taste better) and insert one half in your ECM, and the other half on the car's bonnet, and if it falls off during acceleration, you have a performance chip.

Can't understand how you don't know that.

These streetbeat customs sound like crooks - they list performance chips for cars that do not have ECUs.

I'm checking the other lot now...

Thats funny stuff. One of the guys on the e21 BMW boards said he bought a chip for his car and put up a link to some site (maybe the same one?) and asked how much HP will the chip give on his car. He then asked where and how to install it because he couldn't find the computer. We had to inform his that would be an amazing thing to do as his car has mechanical fuel injection. I guess he could duct tape the chip under the dash and hope it did something.
