I have bought a radio from a later XJ which has these round connections on it. I don't really want to chop them off as the radio is brand new. I would rather try and find out what the connections are and either make a plug to fit them or see if I can buy an aftermarket one. Can anybody help with the electrical connections. it looks like one plug carries the power, I assume switched and non-switched ignition which hopefully I can tell by the size of the fuses with the switched power being the smaller size fuse and the green wire is hopefully the earth. The other plug must be carrying the speaker connections and possibly electric antenna? I tried to download a service manual for the XJ40 (6) from the sticky section here but the link is dead. Can anyone help? My service manual only covers the Series 3 Jag/Daimler XJ6 and 12. The radio is a Clarion PU-9250A with Jag part number DBC 3976.
Thank you very much Don, P.60 88 XJ6 3.6 Electrical.pdf and P.60 on 89 XJ6 Electrical.pdf documents definitely look useful as in there's a few pinks and reds in the colour codes!
I'll try and marry it up with the actual radio connections tomorrow. You can see the difference in the connector quality from the XJ40 series compared to my Series 3 car.
