Default Rear ABS sensor and transmission 1990 XJ6 base model

1990 XJ6 base model. I had a rear axle assembly replaced that had a bad ABS sensor. Of course the ABS light is on, but a week later I have a transmission light on some days, and then off some days. Is the ABS sensor necessary for the transmission to work properly?

Running wise it seems to be working fine. When I got home I checked the oil when the transmission light was on, and there was no oil on the dipstick. So I got the oil out of the trunk, turned on the car, checked the oil level again before I added any oil, and the oil level was fine.
