I just cannot understand why nobody's put up an XJ40 Owner's Manual for download - so many other cars have them available, but for the '40? Just impossible. I live so far away that it's going to cost me a fortune just to have an old beat-up manual mailed out to me in the West Indies when some adoring XJ40 owner could very well make the effort and scan his copy.
I was even thinking of busting the one I am going to get sent out in order to scan the whole damn thing to make it easily available for others to download, but it is not that easy considering how expensive it is to me with the high shipping cost...
So I am throwing this out to all members of this forum - I'm sure many of you have Owner's Manuals - scan them and make them available to other XJ40 owners, and no, the X300 manual simply won't do!

 

Would you like it in multiple languages as well? I think you have a better chance of going to the moon. Not many of us have the time, energy or wherewithal to do such a daunting task. That is why we post individual issues.
For me? Before I purchase any car I make sure I can get my hands on the technical manual and owners manual. I'm sorry you live so far away. If you pay postage I'll send one free, pm me.

 

Thanks for offer - I have tons of info and literature and videos on the XJ40, even an X300 Owners Manual, but no '40 Manual.
Now let me work out how to PM...

 

I have the JTIS DVD with all the shop manuals, for all model years of the XJ40. PM me your address and I'll burn you a copy and mail it.
