Does anyone know if there is other transmissions that fits a XJ40 ?

If by 'other' you mean ZF4HP22 from another make of vehicle, the same automatic transmission was also used in a variety of contemporary models from BMW, Land Rover, Maserati, Peugeot and Volvo.

Manual transmission wasn't common but a few early XJ40's were fitted with five-speed Getrag 265 which was later superseded by the Getrag 290.

Graham thanks for the info- I have been told some GM transmissions will fit without any change-I wanted to ask someone who knows about Jags.
