Question Transmission output bearing noise?

My indy, after installing a diff. and converting the SLS to conventional, called me yesterday and told me the car is still making noise. He said the bearing at the rear of the tranny (output bearing?) was badly worn and causing this noise. He said there was a kit which included the bearing, flange and other necessary parts. Does this sound right? Could the bad diff. we replaced have caused this bearing to go bad? We also noticed that the tranny rear mount seemed to be weak as there was a lot of play in the transmission. We could grab and easily move the transmission with the car on a lift. Does all of this make sense? Could the output bearing problem have been caused by the car being towed inproperly (rear wheels on the ground)? Could the bad tranny mount have caused the output bearing to go bad? Any input is appreciated.
