Twin xj40 engines on the dyno

THANK YOU ..You definitely did !!
interestingly , those seals you so kindly sent me , cleaned up the 3.6 brilliantly , however the 186,000 mile 4.0 was a proper smoker even after fitting them , so i used an old trick, i connected the inlet vacuum stub to the engine breather with a t piece, the other leg of the t piece went to a 22mm one way valve from the plumbers merchants .
this way , at high inlet vacuum i have the same vacuum in the sump as above the pistons and inlet valves , so the oil stays where it is , and on full throttle any sump pressure is allowed out through the 22mm one way valve ...this cleaned the engine exhaust up so much, i used it for the emissions test on the mot and it was fine .
i am guessing the oil control rings on the 4.0 are stuck .
regards
robert
