I recently had to replace the lower water pump hose and in the process had removed some vacuum lines. I do not remember how they were routed. Now the engine idles rough and stutters at around 50 mph. Can anyone post photos of their vacuum line routing or diagrams?[/

Hi - The link below isn't super clear but this might get you started - if you need the specific location/connection of a particular hose please repost.

Drill down through the various sub-sections in the link (egr etc) - hopefully that will get you sorted out.

Hi Piecemeal,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums!

From your photos, I'm assuming your car is a '94 XJ40? It's a great idea to add your car year, model and engine info to your signature so others don't have to ask to be sure they give you correct input. Use the Edit Signature option in your User Control Panel.

Below is a photo I once took of our '93 for a fellow who was trying to figure out where the end of a vacuum hose went. I don't know if it will help you at all, but just in case:

Welcome to Jag-lovers - Members Photo Viewing Page

The blue plastic Air Injection Solenoid and the small cylindrical Air Injection Delay Valve are identified in the caption of my photo. The Fuel Pressure Regulator is the gold-colored cylindrical part visible in the lower left corner of your top photograph, just beneath the end of the fuel rail.

From your rough idle, it definitely sounds as though you've either got an unconnected, improperly-connected, or cracked vacuum hose, or an air leak somewhere else.

By the way, we're a friendly bunch around here, so please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum and post an introduction so we can give you a proper welcome and learn something about you and your Jag.

Please let us know how it goes with your vacuum hoses. As you've learned the hard way, it's worth the time to write a note on a piece of tape describing where a vacuum hose connects, and affix the tape to the end of the hose before you disconnect it.

Cheers!

Don

I appreciate the input guys. I have viewed the links and will see if I can get things corrected with their assistance. If not I will repost a couple photos of the lines in questions.
Thanks Again.
