Default The Victory was short lived.....

After repairing the pump and declaring Case Closed all is not well in Jaguar Land.

The last thread...https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...riving-190784/

I picked the car up Wednesday and drove to get gas and then proceeded to drive the 30 miles home, it ran awesome. It was snowing Thursday so I left it. Friday was just going to be cold.So at 4:45 iI run out it starts in the 10 degree Fahrenheit so Im back in for 10 minutes to make caffe and let it warm up.

Lunch rollls around and a quick run out all is well.

3 1/2 hours later on a sunny Friay afternoon and........ in the exact same spot its spent the las t6 weeks.

So guess what I'm doing Monday?

I’m going to put a gauge on it first thing. If the pressure is low(ish) the tanks coming out. While it sucks I can have it out in about 30 minutes. The hardest part is getting it on stands.

I just thought about the original pump and the outlet has a 'smooth' fitting (to go into the rubber seal on the pump module top) if I remember correctly. The hose on the pump outlet might have come off from pressure and no bulge or barb to hold it??

The X300 and X308 have a different pump with a bulge on the pump outlet pipe to hold the hose and clamp.

Buy a pump for a later car (X300/X308/X100). They are supposed to have a hose attached and not plug into a seal on the pump module.

I pulled the tank out and took the module out... I am an idiot. I used the wrong type of hose to go from the pump to the fitting and it turned to jello in 2 days and split.

Tomorrow i'll install the correct hose and hopefully be up an running again. As Bugs used to say "What a Maroon"

Live and learn.

Joe,

On behalf of all of us, thank you! Because of your transparency and vulnerability in admitting your mistake, the rest of us can avoid making the same mistake ourselves.

This is how we all learn!

In appreciation,

Don
