Question What is this electrical sensor/device under the battery?

...yes, a lot of battery area questions in the last 48 hours, my apologies but that's where I've been digging around lately

So, I noticed this electrical gizmo on the battery tray frame, up under the tray itself and wondered what it was?

If you're ever in the New England area, I'll hook you up. Literally lol.

So took a closer look at mine, and the plastic plug with three pins is terribly deteriorated, the plastic is crumbling. So I guess I'll keep an eye out for a replacement in better shape so it doesn't cause some sort of short in the port one day.

Yeah, I'll have to keep an eye out for one at a salvage yard that may be in better shape.
