Default What is the part number for the hose from thermostat to water pump?

I searched an online parts catalog [url=http://www.jaguarclassicparts.com under JAGUAR XJ6 AND XJ12 PARTS - THERMOSTAT AND BYPASS HOSE-4.0 LITRE. with no success. The hose I am in need of is the one which attaches to the thermostat housing and goes into the waterpump. I think it may be part #EAC3803. Can someone please verify?

Thanks

Hi supra-raleigh,

Since the year, model and engine displacement make a difference when it comes to many part numbers, it will help others if you add that information to your signature line so they don't have to refer to some of your other posts in order to look for that information.

Click on your username in the upper right hand corner of this page, and in the dropdown menu click on the top option, "User CP" (Control Panel). At your Control Panel, look in the left column for "Edit Signature" under "Settings & Options." Click on that and add your Model, Year and Engine displacement, and it doesn't hurt to add the current mileage on the odometer.

Cheers,

Don

Okay, I just noted in one of your other threads that your car is a '93. Assuming the engine is a 4.0L, and the hose you're looking for is Part 14 in the diagram below, then yes, the part number is EAC3803.

If that hose is leaking, and it's been awhile since the hoses were replaced, you're probably also due to replace the infamous thermostat-to-water rail hose, Part 3 in the diagram below, which over the years has been known by all sorts of expletives because it's hidden under the intake manifold. Replacing it is far easier if you separate the intake manifold from the cylinder head and tie it back out of the way, which isn't has difficult or time consuming as it sounds. I would highly recommend that you use a strong light and inspection mirror to check the overall condition of this hose and for any signs of leaks. Some of the independent Jag parts suppliers offer complete hose kits that will save you a little money compared to purchasing individual hoses.

Please keep us informed!

Cheers,

Don

I changed the " infamous thermostat-to-water rail hose" just before I parked the car in December 2012. It was no fun. So, I think that one, with less than 50 miles on it, should be fine.

Yes, the car is a 93 XJ6 4.0.

Is the hose that comes from the thermostat housing and leads to the water pump indeed hose 14 in the figure?
