Hello I'm Mike. I'm trying to get my friend's vehicle running. It's been sitting for 2 yrs. Perhaps with the abundance of brilliance here someone can help me. I'm not being very sucessful at finding info that doesn't cost.
Tanks are full, no fuel to engine. Does the series II have an inertia fuel cut-off? Is there more than one fuel pump. Is the fuel pump(s) circuit fused? I would adore diagrams of the fuel system + electrical schematics. I was a MG mech for five yrs but only did numerous head gaskets on the XJ6. I loved doing the E-types cuz on test drive you got to drive an open wheel car on the streets-great fun.
I would appreciate any help or insight on this matter + real info would be a huge help. I'm a Mercedes guy but I still love to work on the Roots/related stuff. Thank you in advance. Great site. Mike

I thinking you have an XJ6C...like a four door XJ6 but only having two doors.
I've never worked on one so don't take what follows as gospel by any means.
It should have two pumps. If you don't see them in the boot they might actually be in the tanks.
No inertia switch that I know of.
Some had the fuel pump circuit running thru an oil pressure switch...no oil pressure, no fuel pump operation.
Don't know if the pumps were fused or not. The later F.I. models had un-fused pumps <shrug>
If you can find the pumps you can bypass the circuit with a jumper wire directly to the pump(s) from a 12v source and see what happens
Sorry I don't have anything concrete
Cheers

As a carburetted car, the fuel pump supplies fuel at low pressure. AFAIK they are immersed in the tank, so if no good, you will have to find used replacements, or use an external pump. There is a tank changeover switch on the centre console, which switches electric supply to one of the two pumps, have you checked this out ?
