1994 XJ12 with funky wiper issue
Just started looking into my problem and was hoping for some help. Here is the issue with my 94 XJ12: Wiper motor started to more or less stop on it's own... works perfect sometimes and then occasionally starts slowing down, coming to a stop. It appears very random and may go one or two days just fine and then the gremlin comes back. Sometimes it will not work at all. When it is not working I do not hear the motor running. My thoughts are either a dying motor, bad switch, relay or module somewhere or perhaps the ghost of Winston Churchill.
I searched the forums and found someone who posted on a issue similar in the sense that it would not perform the full swipe and several folks mentioned a fuse behind the panel on the drivers side but I could not find it, (Maybe not on the XJ12). Just sort of scratching my head if I should start with the motor, switch or if there are some basic tests that I can perform. Thanks in advance for your time.

Scott,
Your '94 is known as an XJ40 in Jag world.
NO harm.
I suggest a repost in that section. One of teh Mod's will see this eventually and move it, but it may not be quck pick up.
That single wiper has a huge draw on that motor, and things like old age etc are certainly creeping into the plan now.
Earths, BAD ONES, are the most common cause of these gremlins. The XJ40 did have issues with the stalk switch, mainly the early cars that I remember.
Thats about all I remember/know of the '40, as we only had one for a short time before it left the fleet.
