1997 X300 XJ6 ABS Speed Sensor help
Hi
I initially had an intermittent ABS light. It did seem like my ABS was kicking in at times under normal braking conditions. I know that's abnormal.
The condition advanced to the point the ABS light was on constantly once I went over 10 mile per our.
Yesterday I removed all four abs/speed sensors and cleaned them.
It seems I made things worse I don't know how at this point.
The ABS light comes on upon start up. It was coming on when I drove over 10 miles per hour prior. The speedometer no longer works.
I did have it diagnosed the codes showed rear speed sensors not functioning
and abs pump failure. The mechanic feels the abs pump is probably a board issue. When things go suddenly from bad to worse I want to retrace my steps. I did disconnect and reconnect the abs connection. I am hoping for some experienced guidance before I crawl under my car again. I don't think my speed senors went bad in one day. I just don't know what I have done wrong in removing them and putting them back seems fool proof. My speedometer was fine before I pulled the senors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a newbie.

You are in the wrong forums but I'd suggest you disconnect all 4 sensors and use a OHM meter to verify the continuity of each wheel sensor. One is probably open. Then switch the multi meter to a low voltage AC setting and as you spin the wheel a small AC surret should be generated. The faster you spin the more AC.
