That would definitely turn my head. It would be rude to vomit straight at it.

That doesn't even look like an XJ6C to me- I think that was a sedan that someone welded the rear doors shut on. Also doesn't look like an actual convertible, but just looks like it has no roof at all. So presumably someone cut the roof off a unit-bodied pillared sedan. It must make for an interesting driving experience.

If there wasn't a foot of guard clearance to the rims, it might look substantially better, along with some better rims to go with it.

Along with those god awful bumpers removed, and the flares finished off properly not to a square edge, and... and... and...

But its still a NO from me, never liked convertibles.

I saw a car with that rear tire well treatment today in the flesh (not a Jag).
It's bad enough in pictures but wait till you see one in Real Life.
To say it's Hideous is a gross understatement.

I think there's potential in that, provided the work has been done to reinforce the chassis and it's rot free.

Wouldn't be a lot of work to re-instate the original arches, or ones with a slight flare, fit standard or stainless series 2 bumpers, and change the wheels!!

The roof, or lack of it, could be and issue unless you live where it doesn't rain.
It's not a convertible, it's got no roof!

But bearing in mind the price he's asking it could be cheaper to take a four door and create a similar one without the drawbacks.

those Texas Mexicans are working from a different tool box!

its kinda normal around here to see good work on a different agenda.

all and all he did a lot of work(maybe not what we like), only thing i have against it is its not a V12, got no use for an XJ with a 6 or V8!

Custom loses me when proportion is lost and the result is just downright ugly. Nice blue though.

1. I also think it left Brownslane as a saloon. As stated, the odd roportions of the doors and rear quarter support that.

2. Extra wide wheels and tires are fitted when needed. Racers for lateral grip and traction for high horsepower. Here????

Poor choice of wheel offset exacerbate the fitment issue?

My son has a veteran Camaro SCCCA racer. Needed there. But, flow into the body contour much better.

Those flares just don't fit. Trailer fenders come to mind!!!

It may not be a convertible. No top at all. Aka "parade car".

4. While the workmanship looks great, is it a lead sled or in modern parlance, a plaster job.

5. However, it may be a car that was in poor condition and would have otherwise gone to Pic n Pull. Good in that respect.

The local Air quality board offered me a grand if I would take my Jeep to Pick n Pull. But, only if drivable and passed SMOG? Objective??? Cash for Clunkers lives on...
