Default 86 xj6 sIII got pipe?

Wellll... I want to bypass my catalytic converter on my xj6 with a straight pipe. I was planning on just finding a two way splitter to attach to the headers then add on a little $6 flexible exhaust pipe portion from AutoZone to finish it off. That would have been pretty cheap, but that leaves no where for the oxygen sensor to thread in. I don't want to spend a bunch of money getting something fabricated. Hmmm, I thought about just cutting the pipe directly above the cat and fitting a flexible pipe on from there, but the pipe doesn't look perfectly circular at that point and I don't want exhaust leaking into the cab haha!
does anyone have any creative or cost effective ideas?

Default gut it or get a y pipe.

Why do you want to remove the converter? The smell of a non catalyzed car is a bit noxious.

You can remove the catalytic converter and use a steel rod to shatter the matrix. It will pour out like chunks of sand. Then simply replace it the gutted converter case where it was.

You could purchase a Y pipe from summit racing that is the right size and have a muffler shop you know and that knows you weld it in. Most shops wont mess with removing a converter for fear of the legal consequences.

honestly it just seems clogged up and I don't want to buy a new one haha I'm really trying to save money lately. I'll just gut it and let that exhaust flow! restore some HP!
thanks for the advice, that's just the kind of idea I was looking for =)

Wow that was a lot easier than I thought! That never seems to happen, usually things are much harder than I anticipate, so yeah I'm happy =)
Just ran into a gentleman today with an 85 vanden plas who did the exact same thing to his. Its always fun running into a fellow jag owner to compare and swap ideas
