'86 XJ6 Water Pump: Got Me Again...
Heh, heh: got the ac compressor on and I am down to the wire with this job.
I went to put the fan and shroud on and ... noticed the new water pump does not have the fan studs installed. Gotta scrape up four studs, and I will have it. At least I am ready to put the coolant and R134a in it; it has all new belts, too.
Winston Churchill said it best: "Never give up". He must have learned that while working on a Jaguar.

I call it persistence. Others called me stubborn. No matter, it worked for me and still does.
When I did my lump, I found the studs missing from the AC pump to accept the hose manifold. it would have been a bear to get cap screws in down in the nether regions of the engine bay.
So, I made some some studs. Cut the head off a pair off cap screws and threaded the bare part with a die. Again, because of the access issue, I cut slots in the outter ends to enable a screw driver to set them in the compressor body. Worked out real slick. Although, I've never evacuated and charged the AC, it is ready for it, I think.
