Default Advice For Electrical Connection

87 XJ6. The little dash computer will come on then go off after some time. I am pretty sure it is in the wiring connections. Is there anything I can do to help it stay connected better without changing out the connections. The wiring connecters stay together pretty good as far as I can tell. So is there something to put down into the harness to give it a better connection. Thank you

.

The other thing that is readily checkable is the fuses in the main fuse panel. It may be worth removing, cleaning, replacing these. The old style cylindrical glass number sometimes suffer from poor/corroded/loose connections. The s57 wiring diagram says fuses 4&7 but you may as well do the lot while you are there.

Going around cleaning any connection/fuse holder that you can find is a good investment in avoiding the curse of Lucas. I am doing more and more work on old club cars (25+ years old, many 40-50 years old) these days and it seems that 80% of it is just oxidised/poor/loose/previous owner *******ised connections

ps: really? I cant even say bust-ard-ised? fark you guys are sensitive

ok, so you want the trip computer to have a lit display all the time? It could be the LCD starting to fade, and there is no known replacement.

read about the TC here:
