My antenna motor was AWOL when I purchased my XJ6. I purchased an aftermarket antenna on E-bay. It works, but it doesn't fit in the compartment behind the back passenger side tail light without preventing the tail light from being put back in place. I saw a different style antenna with the motor located several feet away from the ariel. I'm pretty sure this is the one I need, but I really don't want to shell out $150 to $275 to get one. Anyone know a source for this part that has reasonable pricing?

 

I think you are going to have to bite the bullet on this one, as these remote motors are a rarety.

 

You could check David Boger's website to see if he has a used one.

 

I found an original antenna. $125. Youch! But it works good and the repair only took 15 minutes start to finish. Another project done!

 

I am also looking for a power antenna for 84 xj6, which you mind telling me where you found yours, it would be much appreciated.

 

Just an FYI.....While looking through the papers that came with my car it looks like the PO had the antenna replaced at the dealer for a price of $165.00

This was two years ago however.
