Question Anyone know where these go? Left over locking spacers.

These parts are remaining from a complete suspension and steering components rebuild.
I think new ones were installed with a replacement part, but want to be sure since I forgot where these parts belong on the XJ6 series 3, 1986.
Thanks!

Possibly off the steering rack owing to the D shaped hole, maybe boot retainers? Am I close? 🤔

Thanks for the help. It is the inner ball joint tab washer. On the steering rack, so you are correct.
The modern versions of inner and outer tie rods may not require that locking tab washer. I don't see one on the new parts.
I need to verify that before finalizing the project.

Spoiler

lol, I think those are tabs so your tie rods don't rotate and fall off. Good luck!

icsamerica is correct, those keyed washers lock the tie rod to the end of the rack. It's much better to have them in place.

Absolutely. The two items are the locking washers for the inner tie rods on the Steering Rack. 15 min install, easy correction. This forum is great. Second issue resolved with your help.
