Body panel suppliers
Anyone have any suggestions for a good supplier of body panels in the US? The floorpans in my 87 Xj6 look like someone beat them with a sledgehammer! I'm guessing they used the floorboards to lift the car or something.
Hey Jamey,
I think its going to be pretty tough to find something like floorpans for an 87. Suggest you take it to a good body shop and see if they can make some floor pans for you. Good body shops can really perform magic.
I see you're in NH. I know they're very picky about vehicle inspections, especially with rusted through floor pans. I lived in Merrimack for 3 years, so I know.

I tried Google, found a ton of websites but most do not carry Jag floor pans even though it turns up in the search. I was hoping someone had a link to a website where I could find them.
I worked as a autobody repairman 20 years ago and can fabricate it myself, but it would save considerable time if I could find a prefab set to weld in. If I can't find them, then I'll do it myself, it'll just be more work.
Steve, it really depends on the vehicle and also the individual inspection station as to what you can get away with. Obviously they don't like holes simply because of the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning and the danger of falling through.
I plan on using this car as an occasional vehicle to cart my family around, so if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. I like being poisoned and road burn just as much as the next guy, but as I get older I realize I may be allergic to death.
