Brake Pedal Pad

Brake Pedal Pad
Hi all,
I wanted to post something positive (sorta). Ever since acquiring the car I had always thought that the brake pedal was just way too big. MAybe it was my size 13 work boots, maybe I was just used to manual transmission cars. So I decided to trim the pedal down to take a more "modern" sized brake pedal rubber pad. I sourced the shape that I was going for at the local auto parts supplier (not Autozone - they won't sell you a knife blade because it's a weapon and can kill someone - but they sell hammers, WD40 and lighters).
And here is the results after some judicious cutting with an angle grinder and wafer wheel:

Tom. I agree. good work.
It seems that Englishmen have narrow feet and thusly, their foot gear is
narrow. Jaguar designed the pedals to fit those!!
I manage with mine. But, then, I usually don't drive it when I have my work boots on.
I am a left foot for the brake and right for the throttle driver. Seems that is why
USA cars use the wide pedal. Jaguar followed for the USA market, I dunno !!!
The rubber pad fell off mine. I glued it on....
Don't sweat the small stuff, just enjoy the holiday...
Daughter comes later to cook a surprise dinner.
Probably not turkey and the usual.

Only speaking from my perspective... It seems that the amount of space between the pedals is different. The controls themselves I agree are sized correctly. The depth of travel is not my issue. My foot on the accelerator actually knocks against the brake pedal. It is more of an annoyance, if your not paying attention. Only a few vehicles in my experience have presented this issue. The last I can recall was a landrover I was looking at for the wife. Same scenario. I actually crossed that vehicle off my list of potential "buys" because of it. I was too uncomfortable on the test ride.

Hi all,
Thanks for the positive (and odd) feedback. I am generally quite happy with this modification. No longer does my foot get caught up eitehr behind or just on the corner of the brake pedal when going for that said peice of mariginal engineering required to stop or slow this mass of 4000 lbs of rolling steel (and sometimes rust) before bumping or obliterating a piece of plastic and aluminum in front of me. No, to correct the shimmy on heavy pedal application.
