Can someone look at their dash top for me?
I removed my dash top to have it recovered. My defroster plastic vents were just sitting in the slots on top. They fell off when I removed the top. One side of the rectangle defroster vent has a wider side. Does the wide edge go toward the windshield or front seats? My plastic tabs are all broken off. Going to have to get creative.
use 3M double adhesive tape to set the vents in place, better than the original mounting pins and fasteners tearing into the foam around the defrost housings, also makes it easier to remove and remount the dash top.

Jose, you beat me to the idea!
I just used some to tuck the Dakota digital pulse converter
out of the way on the passenger side of my lump's scuttle.
Having a tussle with the screws that fasten the cover to the underside of my dash. Longer screws with Allen heads?
And, the front part of the carpet rolls back. Double sided tape solution here. Going to try both in a while?

Carl, the one to get is the 3M tape that is black on one side and grey on the other, I think it is called Automotive Molding Tape.
do you mean the covers with the fuse box "doors" ?? two phillips screws with countersunk washers on the sides, and two smaller screws on the front each cover, also with tiny countersunk or "cup" washers. There is a "L" bracket which inserts into the bottom of the cover, this bracket is welded to the blower housing, easy to miss and if you miss it, the cover just "hangs" there.
