I have always disliked the cheap looking chrome air cleaner lid that I have on my SBC. I thought I'd "Jag it up" a little. It's not perfect, but I think it looks good.
I printed out the graphic on paper, tacked it to a vinyl sheet and then cut out the silver part. The hardest part was transferring the vinyl to the lid. It is rounded, so the graphic didn't want to lay flat.
I painted the silver metallic first and then painted the black after the graphic was down. I used flat black so that the silver metallic would stand out more.
Hmm....
If I had a flat ai rcleaner that would work. but I have a standard OEM Chevy air cleaner.
I'll have to do some, um, Thinking, because I Really like this idea..

Not sure if I still have one or two. Simple alloy discs, engraved via CNC. At one time, my son marketed them. But, using one would obviate the two snorkel cool air intake that NIX enjoys.

I use a filter top so not an option for me.
Jeezz, you could have cleaned up the engine bay a bit before taking a photo mate!
-) we just bought a new car and I dont think its that clean, would be nice to work on.
I'm thinking about going to a filter top. I'll probably use that for road trips and use the Jag lid for shows.
I'd like to take credit for that engine bay, but was all done by the PO. He was an engineer and everything is tucked and routed. I just try to keep it that way.
