I know this has been a topic many times, but thought I'd just ask instead of going thru the list of forums.
What is the name of the cold start thingy?
Cold start injector or something like that.
I'm sick of starting fluid starting and want to get this fixed,.

Does anyone know where to buy a thermotime switch? or have a part number for a parts store?

 

I am confused on this. Can someone please help me out? I am going thru this test Cold Start Circuit Checklist, Jaguar XJ6 Series III and #2 is the starter relay. Where is this at? and #3 is the cold start injector between the middle two intake runners runners. not understanding this!!! the only thing I can make out is the extra air valve, but removing the fuel supply hose is in no way in the way. does someone have pictures or a diagram of some type that I can refer to? Thank you so much for any help I can get.

 

On the firewall you'll see 4 relay-type devices. Three small. One big. The big one is the starter relay. It's the furthest inboard, towards the middle of the firewall


The fuel rail has 7 hoses going to seven injectors. Of those, 6 are all identical, going to the regular injectors. Roughly in the middle of the fuel rail is a hose the is located somewhat differently than all the rest...and which goes to a fuel injector that is located differently than all the rest. That's the cold start injector

Testing done. Although the Cold start injector is bad!!! where do I get one? no one seems to have it. Bosch part #0280170028.
Leads would be so appreciated.

 

I remember seeing a discussion on here, maybe a month ago, about alternatives that work in place of the OEM part, which as you say is currently very hard to find.

Someone may chime in with the source, or you may want to do a SEARCH for it within this forum.
