To my eyes, the dipstick holder is just press fit in. Any suggestions for how to remove? I'm trying to fit up a heat shield in between the exhaust manifolds & Y pipe and the block, out of 1/16" exhaust gasket material. And the dipstick holder is in the way of inserting it in there. I want to remove it to slide the shield in, then replace it.

I removed one from a 4.2 block just the other day. Tried to just grip and pull - no result. Sump off. with 3/8" brass drift just tapped out from the underside. I think to remove from the top you would damage the tube too much.
