Default exhaust fix

well today I am going to tackle the exhaust leak I have at the catalyst. It is cracked out arond the connecting pipe to the catalyst. There is a heat shield on it that I can't get enough leverage on to remove while it's in the car so I am going to take it off and weld back together. I hope I don't get any hidden suprises. I looked for gaskets and such on different diagrams and can't find any. I expected to see a donut ring or something and I don't. Is there anything there, before I start taking it apart? All I need to remove is the catalyst at the manifold and where it connects to the tail pipe.

Amaezingly easy. all seals are perfectly reuseable and all fixed. Jags are a since to work on once you figure out what the problem is.

It's just that they make you think like a British Engineer of decades past.
For some, that's comforting.
