its not complex, its just a pain because you need to remove so many parts I've done it before.. i think you unlock that steering telescoping lock thing and it slides off, you may have to completely unthread it. i dont remember exactly, just dont loose the collets in there , then the stalk is fully revealed. Yes these jags are much more complex than modern cars to disassemble. its all 1960s technology and assembly methods.

This might help

I've had this apart. As mentioned, it's very doable. But it was too long ago for me to remember the details.

Cheers

The wiper switch can be replaced without removing the entire switch bracket assembly. However, the indicator/main beam/flash switch is incorporated into the bracket assembly. So, yes, you do need to remove the upper column shaft.

fixed hazard switch but yet to test, replace a broken spade, was a bit intricate for my liking.
feeling I might have killed the turning arm entirely as removed two screws and then once top of steering wheel off I see label that says do NOT removed two screws... no best placing.
diagrams above very helpful. looks like i need to remove most of shaft to get turning arm / indication arm off.
see images below.

Ok, got the bigger tightener section off, how cannot see and easy remove for this? have to take out entire stalk?

hazard switch .. replaced a spade, which pins should show what continuity to test.?

Article on-line I just found, it's a retaining ring. Explains how to remove, Will try this tomorrow.
