engine weights
#2
It's important to consider engine weight as a package with oil, coolant and transmission with considerations to placement. Here is what I know.
A Jag 4.2 wet with BW 65 is 850 LBS
Jag V12 wet with BW66 or TH400 is 1100 LBS
Wet aluminum LSX with 700R4 is 675 LBS.
Wet iron LSX with 700R4 is 750 LBS.
Wet LT1 or SBC with iron heads and 700R4/TH350 is about 800 a bit less for the Lt1 and 80LBS less for an alu intake and headed LT1
A convert as a package can weigh significantly less then an as built. When you switch to an Aluminum radiator , one piece drive shaft, aluminum A/C compressor the weight saving start to add up and are significant enough to require modifications for proper right height. The V8 converts also position the weight better in the car. The bulk of the weight is lower and further back than as built which significantly improves handling dynamics.

And delete all of the pre-1976 smog equipment, install tubular steel exhaust headers, install a manual stick transmission and add a set of aluminum wheels.
Definitely agree about the aluminum radiator conversion.
This will reduce a lot of weight, where it matters.
Also install a lightweight lithium battery in the trunk (boot).
