Engine wiring harness
Ok, I am a bit ashamed of myself, I have been scouring different manuals, and trying my hardest to find the answer without having to ask, but I must be missing something. Where is the engine wiring harness located within the engine bay itself?
Doug Dwyer is your man, he knows everything there is to know about these cars. If it's the fuel injection harness, this goes on top of the water rail secured by loop fasteners. It is not a good position for wiring, so these tend to get a bit brittle over time.
Thanks Fraser
Fraser is exactly correct about injector harness.
Another harness (for oil pressure switch, a/c compressor, tachometer, etc) goes from the bulkhead connector under the battery to a flat plug anchored to the inner wall of the engine bay, wayyyy down low. Do you see RH shock absorber nut/washers? Ok, a few inches lower than that, and a few inches forward.
Another harness for lights and horns comes from the left bulkhead connector under the brake booster and disappears into the fender. it reappears a couple feet forward and runs along the top of the fender and across the front of the car---one section low and forward of the radiator (horns, cooling fan) and the other running high, across the radiator mounting panel, for lights
All of the above is for a LHD car. RHD drive might well be different
Cheers
